AMD is going to build a multi-billion dollar plant right here in Malta, NY, employing over 1000 workers and envigorating the entire upstate economy in the process. The NY Times broke the news in this story 10/6/2008. This is extremely big for our area, especially in these challenging economic times. Let's hope that in 2009, the deal mentioned in the article goes through.
